Traumatic scars are formed in the same manner as acne scars or any other type of scars for that matter. Your skin produces collagen fibers as part of the natural wound healing process. The way the collagen tissues are aligned, however, is different from the way normal skin tissues are aligned. Also, in most cases, the amount of collagen produced by your skin is either too little or too much, which results in the formation of atrophic and hypertrophic scars.
